HEISE, Velma Elinor

Born in Rock Point, Saskatchewan on August 13, 1931. She passed away at the age of 81 on Friday, February 15, 2013 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with family by her side. Predeceased by husbands William George Burger and Horst Gunter Heise. Loving mother of Karen Blomquist (Wesley) of North East, MD, Calvin Burger (Tuula ) of Glencairn, ON, Colleen Bossio of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Cindy Burger of Toronto, ON and Colin Burger of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Sister Iona Holmstrom (Elmer), brothers  Marvin Raisanen (Effie) and Donald Raisanen.  Sisters-in-law Mabel Raisanen and Fern Morris.  Many nieces and nephews.  Horst’s children, Sheila Heise (Steve), Frances Heise (Danny), Mike Heise and 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Horst’s brothers, Dieter Heise (Renate), Rudy Heise (Hildegard) and sister  Erika McDonald (Lachlan).  She was predeceased by her parents Arvid and Hilda Raisanen (stepmother, Helli), brothers Raymond and Everett and sister Thelma Kusisto, brothers-in-law Wayne Kusisto and Jeff Morris, sister-in-laws Nina Raisanen, Donna Raisanen and Patsy Raisanen.  Velma was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of America.  Family and friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, February, 22, 2013 from 7 to 9.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church (12 Fish Hatchery Rd.) at 10 am.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
