Passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at he age of 71. Beloved wife of Eino Heimonen for 54 years. Loving Mother of Petri Heimonen and Harri Heimonen (Bridget). Proud Grandma of Nathan, Jacob, Kye, Lydia, Rachel, Emily, Haley, Hannah, Ethan. Daughter of the late Ellen Mirjam Tuomisto and the late Yrjo Aroluoma . Sister of the late Tuija Marketta Holtta, Teija. Predeceased by her Grandparents Kiril Aroluoma and Maria Nousukari, Aarne Tuomisto and Lempi Matilda. Ulpu will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East – 705-759-2522) on Sunday July 15, 2018 between 1pm - 4pm. Funeral service to take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monday July 16, 2018 at 11am. Burial will take place at Grace United Cemetery, Hilton Beach. Ulpu was a selfless and caring women, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her time with family, especially at camp. She would always be there to support her many grandchildren in any venture they were part of. She also took pleasure in giving back to her community by volunteering at the Finnish Rest Home. She loved travelling with her family to places including Cuba, NYC, hockey games and the racetrack. Ulpu had a strong passion for Art and was an avid photographer in many areas including wildlife and special events, many of her pieces can be found at the Finnish Rest Home and City Hall. Memorial contributions to Canadian Cancer Society - Breast Cancer or the Finnish Rest Home would be greatly appreciated.
