At home, surrounded by family, Dad passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Tuesday April 26, 2022 in his 94th year.

Adored husband of 65 years to  Margaret Hart (nee Lougheed); son of Howard and Ingeborg Hart (nee Lisla); brother of the late Vance Hart and late Marilyn Lomas; loving father and friend to Carolyn Johnson (Martin), Kathryn Armstrong (late Bill), Elizabeth MacIsaac (Keith), Jennifer Hart, David Hart (Kim), Andrew Hart (Brenda); proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Born in 1928 in Sault Ste. Marie, Frank led a life of service to his Lord, his family and his community. He attended Alex Muir Public School and Sault Collegiate High School. Upon graduation, he completed his study of Optometry at the University of Toronto and returned to the Sault to start his practice. On weekends he also provided optometric services to the remote communities of Blind River, Wawa and Thessalon. He was active in the Rotary Club since 1957, Commander for the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and served his Lord faithfully within his church community.

His beloved Margie was the love of his life. They created a bond that most could only imagine, and spent their life devoted to each other. Together they travelled the world and had numerous boating adventures. They were blessed with a group of lifelong friends and shared their lives through many experiences such as cross country skiing, concerts, curling, boating, dining and Bible studies. He truly led a life well lived.

The family would like to extend an invitation to join them for refreshments and a Celebration of a Life Well Lived at Algoma Conservatory of Music’s THE LOFT (formerly Abitibi/ St. Mary’s Paper) 75 Huron St. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.

A private family service will be held on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Luke's Cathedral would be greatly appreciated.  To honour Frank’s servant heart, please keep your eyes open for opportunities to lend a helping hand.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.
