Shirley Hammond passed away peacefully at the General Hospital on Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the age of 67. She has gone to be with her loving husband, William. Mother of Terri Pilon (Denis) of Sudbury, Jack Hammond of Taber, Alberta, Vicki Cimino (Nat) of Sault Ste. Marie and Tara Hammond of New Westminster, B.C. Grandmother of Adrienne Pilon, Nathan Hammond and Nicholas & Julia Cimino. Sister of Marion Ratchford (late John) of B.C., Jean Panigi (late Ted) of Michigan, Richard Backman (Cecilia) of Ohio, Robert Backman (Rosemary) and the late Bruce Backman of Nova Scotia. Sister-in-law of Lois Scott (Russell). Cherished friend of Wanda Boyer. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. for a funeral service in the chapel with Mrs. Joy McPhee officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospitals Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
