It is with a profound sense of sadness that the family announces the passing of Brian Edward Hagger. Born August 18, 1948 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, in Blind River, Ontario on January 8, 2021. Son of the late Kenneth (Mabel) Hagger and the late Florence Roy Hagger, and grandson of the late Joe and Dora Hagger. Much loved brother of Joseph (Gilles), Keith (Gail), Susan (Bill) Edgecombe, Kenneth (Nicole), Karen (Rory) Gordon and Steve (Pauline) Fosberg. Nephew of Pat (Moe) Maville and the late Bev (Mike) Podstawka and the late Diane (Neil) Shannon.
Brian is survived by his much loved three children Robert, Julie (Brent) and Ryan (Christie) as well as his loving grandchildren Abby, Jake, Joshua, Spencer, Cassie and great granddaughter Lilyth and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Brian was a kind and gentle soul, loved his family, friend to many, an avid golfer and a longtime respected member of the Blind River Community with his business Brian’s Bookkeeping.
A special thanks to his longtime friends and caregivers, Laurie Ball, Murray and Betsy Paul, Arnold and Julie Thom, Therese Gauthier, Mike and Micheline Ethier and their family and all his golfing buddies for their never ending care, friendship and support. A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at the North Shore Health Network (Blind River site) and the Sault Area Hospital. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice and appreciated by the family.
As per Brian’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. All arrangements entrusted to Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre.
