May 28, 1959 - Februay 28, 2021

With broken hearts, the family of John Paul Greco wish to announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the age of 61. If our love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years Merja Terttu (Tina), daughters Rachel and Sophia(Cameron).  His “girls” were the light of his life and were by his side in the final weeks of his journey with cancer.

John Paul was the loving son of John and Ann Greco, supportive and loving brother to Tracey Greco and father figure ”Uncle John” to Tristian and Kasten Marshall. Son-in-law to Terttu Lausanne(late Alpo) Brother-in-law to Sari Jokinen(Josh Packer) and Mark Jokinen(Monique).  Uncle John to Nikos, Maila, Rainer and Markus.

John was a long time employee of Algoma Steel and retired in May 2020 from the Engineering Dept. John(JP) had a great camaraderie with his co-workers and shared many laughs over the years. Nothing made John move quicker than an 8:00 am tee time. He loved the game and all his golf buddies at Root River. John loved spending time in the yard landscaping, having campfires, driving his Dodge Challenger (The Blue Rocket), feeding his little critters and puttering around in his Detroit Lions themed garage.

The support, love, and prayers from family and friends during John’s illness was truly remarkable. He found strength, wisdom and laughter from the daily text messages, phone calls, video messages and visits.

The family would like to thank John’s care team, Dr. Spadafora, Nurse Louise, Dr. Nicki Apostle, Joyce, Jeff and Jennifer from homecare for their supportive and compassionate care over the past few months.

John always said you can’t do it alone, you need your family by your side. John’s world revolved around his family and his home. You no longer walk beside us but you live within our hearts and gently watch over and guide us.
Love Mumsie, ChooChoo and FeeFee (your girls)
