Coyla Margaret Graver (Buchanan), 81, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away peacefully Monday, March 11, 2019 surrounded by her family. Coyla was born in Soo, Ontario November 2, 1937 to Clifton and Mary (Cameron) Buchanan.
Coyla married her sweetheart, Charles Graver, August 30, 1958 in a double wedding with her sister, Lois and brother-in-law George Bentson. She spent the next 20+ years as a military wife with stays in Colorado, Texas, California and Kincheloe, Michigan. Coyla treasured her life-long friendship with her maid of honor, Carole Parton.
Coyla’s passion for all things artistic kept her very busy and many of her watercolor paintings can be found in homes across North America. She taught painting classes locally for many years and had a special fondness for teaching senior citizens. Her love of gardening and interior decorating was quite evident to all that visited her homes on Three Mile Road. 
Surviving Coyla are her children, Craig Graver of Bellingham, MA and Lisa Graver of Milton, GA and sisters Lois Bentson and Diane Hilderley both of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Lindsey (Graver) Graf of Newton, MA, Andrea Kahr of Sandy Springs, GA, Cameron Graver of Uxbridge, MA, and Charlene Kahr of Alpharetta, GA and 2 great grandchildren Maxwell Graf and Hunter Graf.
Coyla was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, son Stephen Graver, brother Duane Buchanan and her parents.
Visitation will be held at Hovie Funeral Home Friday March 15, 2019 from 11am – 1pm with funeral services beginning at 1pm. Burial will be held at a later date at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. Donations to the Alberta House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan appreciated in lieu of flowers.
