Edwin Giesbrecht entered into the presence of The Lord after a very courageous battle with cancer at the Plummer Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 16, 2002 in his 61st year. Beloved husband and best friend of Shirley. Faithful and loving father of Dean (Nicole), Rowena (Gerald Kirk), Karl (Fiancé Christine Leslie) and Eloise. Grandfather of Joshua Edwin John. Eldest son of Lena and the late Cornelius Giesbrecht. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 4 sisters and their spouses. Son-in-law of Merle and Edna Noble. Fondly remembered by Shirley's 2 sisters, 1 brother and their spouses. Uncle to many niece and nephews. Edwin, an Associate Professor of Mathematics, has taught at Algoma University since 1970. Edwin has been a dedicated leader of the Gideons, Galilean Bible Camp and Bible Fellowship Assembly. He has been involved in the Masters Swim Team for 10 years.
