Maria Gazzola passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with illness, at the Plummer Memorial Hospital with her family by her side on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 7:30 am at the age of 65. Maria is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Benedetto and loving son Luigi (Nancy) of Waterloo, Ontario. Nonna will be sadly missed by granddaughter, Sarah Irene. Maria will be sadly missed by her brother Luigi Martinello (Angelina) of Italy. Maria is predeceased by her parents Irene and Antonio Martinello of Italy. Sister-in-law of Onorio Gazzola (Stella), Teresa Gazzola and Celina Prevedello (late Silvio) of Italy and Tarsilla Cunial (Joseph) of Australia. Beloved niece of Guerrino Favaro. Aunt of Maria Rosa, Irene, Rafaela, Paula, Antonio, Lorenzo, Ellen, Stephen, Claudia, Anna, Robert, Ivan, Anna, David and Lisa. Maria was a lady of golden hands and a golden heart. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, April 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Monday, April 28 at 11:00 am. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Oncology Unit would be appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Walde, Dr. Ianni, Dr. Spadafora, the staff on Oncology and the staff on 6th Floor for their special care given to a very special lady.
