Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 104. Beloved wife of the late Nolan. Predeceased by her four sisters. Loving Mother of Les (Laurie) and Karen (Wade). She will be sadly missed by her four granddaughters, six great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was a veteran of the Second World War where she served as a WREN and was stationed in Scotland. For the last nineteen years of her life, Mom lived comfortably at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home (OFRH), she made some wonderful friends there and was so grateful for their love and companionship. The family owes a huge debt of gratitude to the staff at OFRH for their care and compassion.
As per Kay’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRHA) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
