(1954 - 2022) - With heavy hearts we share the unbelievably sad news of Robert James Ford, (Bob’s) sudden passing on June 27, 2022.

Bob always did things his way and in true Bob fashion he passed away peacefully with his beloved Labradoodle Jenny by his side watching the Stanley cup final, after sharing a wonderful weekend with family and friends at his nephew and washer toss partner’s wedding.

To those that knew him well he loved you beyond measure, and couldn’t do enough for you. His generosity knew no bounds.

His family, friends and neighbours will miss him terribly.

He was a loving son, husband, father, stepdad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, papa, neighbour and best friend.

Work to him was not hard it was just what you did and he never shied away from any job no matter how big or small….. Bob’s impressive 50 year career at Ellwood Robinson LTD was a milestone that he was so proud of. He loved to camp and fish at Aubrey Falls and was looking forward to doing more of this in his upcoming retirement the end of July.

He was a Loving son of the late Jean and Charlie Ford, brother and brother-in-law of Jackie (Len), Sue (Bernie), Louise (Mike), Walter (Lois), Eric (Ila), Steve (Ellen), Rita (Glen), late Larry (Rhonda), Raymond (Carole), Kelly (Pete), Wayne (Carrie) and Lesley (Darren). Father of Richard and Trevor. Proud uncle of 32 nieces and nephews.  Husband and friend for life of “Tame” (Tamar) as he affectionately called her. Step Dad to “Cam”, “Jay”, and “Mace”.  Loving Papa to sidekick “Brin” (Jaden)

His many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews considered him very special and his absence will be especially missed by his Charlie’s Angels family ball team this Thessy long. Not only for his ballfield presence but also for his bacon cooking and washer toss expertise.

Bob was a friend to many but had a special place in his heart for childhood friend Dick (Richard Johnson) his Root River Bud Richard Barsanti and his neighbour, friend and “brother” Anthony Fiaconi.

Bob’s Ellwood Robinson cement crew was his other family and he will be missed by his long time workmates Chris, Mike and “Stevo” among many others.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Bar River Hall, 14 Lapish Rd., Echo Bay Ontario on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 4 pm.   At the request of Bob’s family any donations can be made to ARCH in his name, to help continue the outstanding service they provided for his mother and brother and continue to provide for our community.  Cheques can be left at the service or dropped off at Arthur Funeral Home.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Ford family.
