It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Percy on Friday May 28th, 2021, at the age of 87. Husband and best friend of Barbara for 59 years. Loving, intelligent, strong, passionate and stubborn dad of Kathy Dickinson (Jay), Mary Deschene (Paul) and Julianne Spooner (Marcel). Proud grandpa of the late Waylan Dickinson, Brandan Dickinson (Katie), Cody Deschene, Brett Deschene and Megan Spooner.

Predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Irene Fillion. Brother of Dorothy (late Lloyd) Beaton, Gerry (late Barb), the late David (Helen) and Brenda (late Barnie).

Percy will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his brothers from Knights of Columbus Council #12003.

Percy could fix anything. A locksmith, a carpenter, a welder, an electronics genius...retired for over 25 years and still getting calls to come and repair jukeboxes.

Percy had a very strong faith and lived according to the virtues of the Knights:  loyalty, charity, courtesy and modesty.  He enjoyed volunteering and community service and demonstrated this through his many years of involvement cooking and serving for pasta dinners, selling tickets, working blood drives and helping out at the church.

He loved football and hockey and anyone that knew him knew that he loved only two teams the Green Bay Packers and Montreal Canadiens.

More than anything though, he enjoyed spending time with family.  He was so proud of all his grandchildren and loved to follow their achievements big and small.  He will be deeply missed.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to Église Sainte Marie du Sault, Holy Family Church or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Sault Area Hospital 3C, especially Sarah, Tina and Alisha for their care and compassion.

Visit the O’Sullivan Funeral Home website to leave condolences for the family. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
