It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my mother Dana on Tuesday April 7, 2020, just two months before her 60th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dedicated and loving mother of Sadie Janes. Dear sister of Frank Fazi. Predeceased by her mother and best friend Patricia Fazi. Special granddaughter of the late Jaqueline and Frank Lorenzo. She will be greatly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

To know Dana was to know honesty, true friendship and love. She was a friend that gave everything and asked for nothing in return. She was effortlessly cool and a rebel in the best way. She knew how to have fun and appreciate the little things better than most. She lived simply and counted her friends and family as her riches. With such an intelligent, complex mind, but the purest heart, she was able to see the world through a unique lens and connect with people from all walks of life. Being around Dana you suddenly forgot your problems and couldn’t help but laugh right along with her (oh that laugh).

Dana was a server and a teacher, two professions that allowed her to shine and pass on her contagious spirit to those who needed it. No matter what was going on in her life she always managed to put on that glowing smile and make sure everyone else was having a good day. She was the epitome of friendly customer service. When it came to being a teacher, it was hard to find one better than her. She connected with all of the children so well, especially those who needed a little extra help.

Dana, we know you are out there somewhere dancing alone to the rock 'n' roll greats, and catching up with your beloved Patsy and Jackie.

You were such a fighter right until the end and now is YOUR time to be at peace.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when we can all get together and raise a glass to this wonderful woman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Humane Society or TAAG. Arrangements entrusted to O'Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way through night and day
'Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven

Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please

Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven
