August 18, 1933 – November 25, 2022

On November 25, 2022, Mr. Dan Desjardins, surrounded by his loving family, reluctantly but peacefully, departed this world with grace, profound strength and dignity. He will be greeted on the other side by the love of his life, Shirley Rose (Manzutti), his son Mark, parents Emile and Celestine Desjardins, most of his siblings EXCEPT Margaret Hayes-Sheen and Jock Desjardins, plus many other family members and friends that he lost throughout his 89 ½ years of life.

Left behind to carry on his name and keep his memory alive are his children: Suzanne, Danny (Carolle) and Robert (Candy) as well as his grandchildren, Elissa (Joel Michaud), Tejean Villeneuve, Kodi Devoni, Jessica (Eric Nirkkola), Joseph, Gary, Christopher, Dylan, Meagan, Candance, Chelsey, Penny and Tiffany who have given him 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousin. Remembered by his special friend, Muriel Fitzsimmons.

Cremation has taken place. A small gathering at his grave will take place on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 11am. Those who wish to attend can meet in their vehicles in front of the cemetery chapel at 10:50am. A celebration of Dan’s life as well as his 90th Birthday party will be taking place next summer, on August 19, 2023, at the family camp. Visit www.osullivanfuneralhome.com to leave condolences for the family. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, P6A 1P7, 705-759-8456).

To Dad: Thank you for providing us a wonderful life and being a great father.

Thank you for all the many fond memories.

Thank you for giving us all those incredible Desjardins genes.

And thank you most of all for serving our country and being the man that you were. We love you and will miss you immensely.

Rest in peace now and please give our beautiful mother and Mark and extra long hug from us all. xo
