Suddenly but peacefully ay the Sault Area Hospital on Friday April 19, 2019 , just 10 days after his 70th birthday. Born in Thessalon on April 9, 1949. Survived by his loving wife Ellen. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Michelle Benwell (Sydney), Estelle Derasp, Maxine Derasp and Christopher Derasp. Grandfather to Tyson, Tianna, Erica, Lindsay, Kyle, Christian, Jasmine and Courtney. Great grandfather of Chloe, Aubrie, Blake, Leah, Jordann, Julia and Meracle. Brother of Yvonne Beaudoin (Johnny). Son of the late Gerald and Louise Derasp. Brother-in-law of Colleen, Dennis, Randy, Gary, Terry, Pete and Cory. The family would like to thank Yvonne and Johnny Beaudoin and the Carpenter’s Union Local 446 for the care given to the family during tis time. As per Gerald’s wishes, there will be no services and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ARCH.
