Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in his 83rd year with his family at his side. Loving and devoted husband of Christina May (nee Maki) for 58 years. Cherished father of Fern Jr. (Marilyn), Daniel (Renee), Mark (Jeanine) and Tina Nazar (Raymond). Proud grandfather of Krista, Mark Jr., Shannon, Taylor, Steven, Shelby, Rebecca, Stephanie, Ryan and Cole. Great grandfather of seven. Son of the late Alcide and Irene. Dear brother of Marie (late Gerry), late Fernande (late Norm), late Alcide, late Marcel (Carol), late Estelle (late Germain), Lucien, Norman (Lillian), Suzanne (Claude) and Jean-Marc (Denise). Brother-in-law of the late Judy, late Donald, late Bonnie and Andy (Ellen). Fern will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. He worked at Algoma Steel before retiring after 32 years. Fern loved the outdoors including camping and fishing Ranger Lake. Although a strong individual, Dad always had a happy tear in his eye on those special occasions.
