We are profoundly saddened to announce that our mother and best friend Kathy has passed away on December 2nd. Kathy’s final moments were peaceful, surrounded by her family, listening to her favourite music, and sharing warm memories. Wife, best friend and soul mate of Bill Danz; Mama to Cassie (Toni Nientied), Lindsay (Dustin Badinski) and stepmother to Robert Danz (Jennifer). Proud Kiki of Alex Onishenko, Lily, and Dylan Badinski; blessed grandma to her grandchildren from Kansas: Kaelen, Noah, Alyssa, Aiden, and Naomi. Kathy was the youngest sibling to an incredible family of ten, Leonard (Donna), Art (Beryl), Bill, John (Deborah), along with sisters Norrine Cornthwaite (Ken) and Lyndy, who loved and supported her over the years. Closest with her sister Lyndy, they shared much of their lives learning and laughing together. Sister-in-law of Brenda McMillian (Mel) and Patricia Stanghetta (Phillip). She was Auntie Kathy to many nieces and nephews, each of which she loved.

Kathy had three lifelong friends, Donna, Pauline, and Carmela, that she thought of as an inseparable part of herself. Mama will now be reunited with her parents Kay and Cyril, beloved stepfather JD, brothers Clark and David, sister Merle, and many other friends and family members that she had sincerely missed. Kathy had a lifelong passion for all wildlife and her loyal companion Kay-D will sincerely be lost without her. Kathy had a witty fun-loving charm and made friends wherever she went. People were drawn to her sincerity and open heart. Her door and ear were always open to anyone that needed advice and comfort. She loved more people that can be listed, and she’ll be missed by countless others.

Special thanks to Sault Area Hospital’s ICU staff, 3B staff, especially nurses Amelia and Autumn and physicians Dr. DeFabio and Dr. Beuhner. Your compassion and warmth made her last days filled with trust and comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations to ARCH or Sault Area Hospital would be appreciated. There will be a private family gathering where memories, music and good food will be shared as this was her wish. Mom always believed that “wherever you are is my home and I am sure we will be together again”.
