CLARK, Elizabeth Jean

We regret to announce the passing of Elizabeth Jean at the Plummer Site, Sault Area Hospitals on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the age of 79, after a courageous fight with cancer. Born in the village of Cleeve, Cheltenham, England to the late John and Winnifred New, on October 2, 1924. Wife and best friend of Cyril for 37 years. Mother to Penny (late Arthur), Anita (late Bill) and Barry (wife Barbara). Grandma to Bonita, Shelly (husband Laugharne), Jason, Shaun, Anthony and Michael (wife Helen). Great Gran to Thomas Jones in Wales. Sister to Jack New (wife Mary), Michael, New, Philip New (wife Rita), the late David New, Muriel (late Arthur), Sheila (late Jack), Rita (late Stan) and Brenda (late Bill). Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the UK. Sister-in-law to Gladys Grimshaw (late Tom) of Thunder Bay, ON. Her black lab, Shamu, will miss her. At Jean’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation with interment at a later date in England. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the SAH Cancer Clinic or the Humane Society which will be greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. S. Spadafora, Dr. D. Walde, Dr. S. Buehner, nurse Colette and all involved in the care and treatment of Elizabeth over the last 5 years at the Cancer Clinic, Palliative Care and 4th Floor Oncology. Also thank you to all our friends and neighbours for the flowers, visits and compassion over the final weeks. She will be in God’s Garden (Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 759-2522).
