With deepest sadness we regret to announce the passing of Janice early morning on Saturday September 14, 2019. After a courageous 11 year battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and holding hands with her husband, as they do most evenings watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Janice is now reunited with her mom and dad, the late Alex (Sr.) and Teresa D’Ettorre. Janice will leave behind her loving husband, Merrill of 46 years, her children and best friends, Jeff Charron (Jana), Jennifer Charron (Darren) as well as her son from another mother, Patrick Kerr. Her ‘special’ grandbabies/pets, Prada, Monkey squared and Diggy. She leaves behind her loving sisters and brother, Margie Colautti, Shelley Pezzutto (John), Alex D’Ettorre (Marcy), Tracy Piraino and the baby Mary D'Ettorre. Daughter in law to late Eddie and Peggy Charron. Sister in law to the late Shirley Fronzi, Jackie Atkinson (Roger), Connie Charron and Calvin Charron (Mona). Favourite auntie "Nanny" to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was loved by many wonderful special friends she has met along the journey including her high school best friend, Debbie Dunseath. Janice was a beautiful, fun loving person who loved her sports and was always up for a good party. Her smile and brilliant brown eyes could light up any room. Janice was always a thoughtful, beautiful, caring soul that even until the final moments, was selfless and compassionate thinking only of others over herself. Janice was already an angel on earth. She will never be forgotten by anyone who knew her.

A special thank you to all the family, friends, doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers who supported and cared for Janice throughout this decade long journey. Thank you to the wonderful workers at Metro Pharmacy, Adel Pharmacy, Princess Margaret Hospital and Health Science North. Thank you to Dr. Fera, Dr. Reich, Dr. Aziz, Dr. Shona Smith, Dr. Rassouli and Paula and one last big hug from Janice and her sisters to Dr. Shehata and Shelia. A special thank you to Dr. Karen Booth (and Sheena) for her tender care through the final leg of this journey. Thank you to nurse John Nardo and all the nurses and support staff at Algoma District Cancer Centre, all the nurses and staff at Bayshore nursing with a special thank you to nurses, Rochelle and Jessica for helping her through her final hours.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 21, 2019 at the Grand Gardens Verdi Hall (455 Queen St. W, Sault Ste. Marie) from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Janice’s honor to Algoma District Cancer Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or ARCH (payable by cheque). Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456
