After 93 years of adventures, Gordon peacefully passed into his heavenly home to be reunited with his loving wife of 59 years Stella (Oliver) predeceased 2005.  He leaves with the love of his children Barrie (Helen), Sandra (John) Mitchell and Marsha (Paul) Baskcomb.  Proud Grandpa of Jason (Raeann), Andrea (Steve), Sarah (Kaiden), Jannah (Rick), Aimee (Jairus), Bryan and Mark.  Great Grandpa of Jude, Saveria, Thaddeus and Grayson.  Very dear brother of Betty (Keith) Winslow.  Gordon was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Eva Burmaster and sisters Dorothy King, Shirley McLarty and daughter-in-law Marina.  Gordon served in WWII as an Air Bomber with the RCAF from October 1942 until June 1946, when he returned to Sault Ste. Marie. He married Stella and continued his career at the Algoma Steel Corp.  retiring in 1981 as Supervisor of Data Processing.  In retirement Gordon and Stella enjoyed travelling and spending time at their cottage on Manitoulin Island.  Gordon has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith and has now been awarded his crown of righteousness. Family and friends are invited to Greenwood Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 10 am until time of the service at 11 am.  Committal service to follow.  Pastor Benny Kjiersdam officiating.  Memorial contributions to the Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle or to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
