BONE, Ron BIO copy

Peacefully on March 17th, 2018 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice, Ron passed on to glory. Much loved husband and best friend of Anne Bone (McAuley), and best father ever to Becky (Len) and Ray (Meredith). Grandchildren Abby, Micah, Hannah, and little Joe will miss their “grumpy” Grampa. Dear son-in-law of Ruth McAuley. Ron will be missed by his siblings Gaele Overman (Ken) and David Bone (Phyllis). He was a dear brother-in-law, cousin and special uncle. Loved and missed by his friends and church family.

Ron was born in Sault Ste Marie on July 4, 1949 to Roland and Lillian (Hill) Bone. He grew up on Morin Street, and had an adventurous spirit from an early age. This led to becoming involved in motocross racing and getting his mechanic’s license. After working for a few years as a motorcycle mechanic, he went on to work at Algoma Steel as a heavy equipment operator. Ron enjoyed road trips, restoring vintage motorcycles, camping, music, cross-country skiing, watercolour painting, and spending time with his family.  A memorial service in Ron’s honour will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24th, at Bethel Bible Chapel. Visitation prior to service from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Camp Aush-Bik-Koong, Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH), and the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF). Ron’s family would like to thank our many friends and relatives who have supported and prayed for us, as well as the wonderful staff at ARCH and SAH for their compassionate care.   (Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel – 492 Wellington St. E.  – 705-759-2522.)
