Peacefully began his journey to the spirit world, on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021, aged 72. Reunited with his adored parents, the late Irene and Lawrence Boissoneau. Beloved Dad and best friend to his loving children who never left his side, Trent, Tianna (Francis) and Tyrone.  Proud Papa of ‘his Boys’, Rylan, Isaiah, Trent Jr., and Jonny. Much loved companion to Maureen Pine. Fred came from a large family of 14 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sisters, Carol Jones (Noel), Linda Lariviere, and, his brother, Gord Boissoneau (Ann Marie). Predeceased by his siblings, Barb Roach (late Jimmy), John “Bud” Boissoneau, Stella Sewell (late John), Earl Boissoneau (Margie), Larry Boissoneau (late Nancy), Andy Boissoneau, Albert Boissoneau (late Donna), Joyce Howard, Eddy Boissoneau (Elvina), and his twin brother Gerrald. Cherished Uncle, Great Uncle, Great Great Uncle and Great Great Great Uncle to countless nieces and nephews. Dear friend to Renae Vanbuskirk (Kayla), Lisa Vanbuskirk (Buzz), Rainbow Agawa and “Tazz”.

Fred was a strong advocate for Tianna’s twin brother, Tyrone who is autistic with complex medical needs. Fred’s love for his family was unconditional and he was often seen accompanied by one of ‘his Boys’. His grandsons were his pride and joy. Fred was well known around town as “Fast Freddy” and he could fix anything with duct tape.

On behalf of Fred’s family, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to his niece, Tanya Boissoneau (Paul) for her love, support, guidance, care and compassion throughout his end of life journey. We cannot express enough thanks to all the family and friends for their continued love, encouragement and support.  The list is too long to mention everybody’s name and we appreciate all the help.

We would also like to thank Dr. Apostle, Dr. McLean, Dr. Mathur, Dr. Wilson, Dr. Berry, Nurse Charles Ann and the staff of the Algoma Regional Renal Clinic, Nurse Dawn, Community Care Access Center and the SAH Staff of Unit 3B and Unit 3C for the wonderful care our dad received.  We also hold a very special place in our hearts for the staff and volunteers at ARCH for the respect and honour you showed our dad in his final days.

“We’re still gonna use that big candle on birthday cakes, your birds will always be fed and we put a mickey in your pocket. Cheers! Love you Dad!”

At Fred’s request, a private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to ARCH. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522). Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
