After a long courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Bitonti at Darmouth, Halifax.  He passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on March 19th, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones.   Joe is survived by his loving sons Pat (Heidi) and Anthony (April) and adored grandchildren Kiara, Kalie, Megan and Matthew. Joe was a close long-time friend to Beverly Jackson.   Joe was the cherished oldest brother to five siblings and survived by four, Frank (late Norma Cornblat), deceased brother Sam, Theresa Zanatta (Rick), Rose Bruni (Marchy) and Tony (Julie). He will be fondly remembered by numerous nephews and nieces.   Joe was born in small picturesque mountain town, San Giovanni in Fiore, in Calabria, the toe region of southern Italy to loving parents Barbara Bitonti (late Pasquale). Very special nephew to late Luceriza Brunetti.     Joe was one of a kind and will always be remembered for the love he had for everyone. His lifetime passion for music was evident for those who knew him.  Joe can now rest in peace and be pain free. He will now bring joy with his music up above.  Due to restrictions with the current pandemic a private family service will be held in Halifax.  A celebration of life in Halifax will be announced at a later date.  A memorial mass in Sault Ste Marie will also be announced at a later date.   Rest in Peace Joe and may the music in you live forever.  We will miss you.
