Passed away on Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Sault Area Hospital in his 88th year. Husband of Norma for 63 years. Loving father of John (Mary), Sara, Leah (Mike), and Annabel (Mike). Cherished grandpa of Lucas, Mara, Alexandra, Joshua, Colton, Sabrina, and Lily. Great-grandpa of Joshua and Gabriel. Dear brother of Tom (Dorothy) and Madge McMahon (Keith). Jack will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends across Canada.

Jack grew up in Oshawa, Ontario and received a B.A. in Psychology from Queen's University. After working for the General Motors and Ford Assembly Plant in Oakville designing plant layout he went back to the University of Toronto to get his Teaching certificate. He became a trusted high school teacher at Bawating C. & V.S. for 29 years teaching Architectural and Mechanical Drafting, Woodworking, Building Construction, Guidance (placement), Mathematics, and Geography.

Jack had a great love for music, woodworking, and sports. He thoroughly enjoyed playing sports (especially hockey), and in his later years was an avid watcher of hockey, golf, football, and auto racing.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date and encourages former students and friends from any of his years teaching at Bawating to join them for this. Condolences and comments can be sent to Annabel Bingham [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made (payable by cheque or online) to the Group Health Centre, Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada, or Queen's University. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).
