ALLMENDINGER, Renate Johanna (nee Lehmann)

Posted

In loving memory of our sunshine, Renate, whose battle with cancer ended in the Campbell River Hospital (B.C.) on April 22, 2003. Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully in her 72nd year. Lovingly remembered by her "Alter", Hanns, husband of 50 years, daughters Nina Coulter (Mike) of Sault Ste. Marie, Carol and Rhonda (John, Elli, Jeremy) of Kingston, sons Michael (Nancy) of Toronto and Thomas (Tamara) of Comox, B.C., sisters Uschi and Traudi of Hamburg, Germany; grandchildren: Vanessa, Spencer and Logan; and sisters in law: Hilde Roesch (Ewald) of Anspach,Germany and Lore (Herbert) Beitinger of Baltimore, ON and her nieces and nephews. Known for her love of pottery, weaving and photography of the outdoors, she will always be remembered for her directness, brutal honesty, wit and generosity. She truly embraced the human spirit! Born in Hamburg, Germany, she immigrated to Ontario with her husband and daughter in 1954, retiring to Vancouver Island in 1988, finally settling in the village of Sayward. At Renate's request there will be no service; a celebration of her life will be forthcoming when her ashes are released at her favourite places on land and sea. We love you, Spatz! Contributions in memory of Renate are appreciated and can be made to: Tour de Rock - Cops for Cancer, Canadian Cancer Society, c/o RCMP Sayward, Box 100, Sayward, B.C. V0P 1R0 (www.copsforcancer.com)
