TORONTO — A much-hyped showdown between boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC superstar Conor McGregor is getting the big screen treatment.

Cineplex says it will present the super welterweight contest live onscreen in theatres across the country Aug. 26.

"Mayweather vs. McGregor" is a 12-round bout that will pit the boxing and MMA giants against each other for the first time.

The battle is set to take place in Las Vegas and will cap a four-city tour that recently brought the duo to Toronto.

The match is being billed as "the biggest fight in combat sport history."

The 29-year-old McGregor is the reigning lightweight champion, while the 40-year-old Mayweather came out of retirement to put his perfect 49-0 record on the line.
