Canada to square off versus Ukraine in next round of Fed Cup competition

MONTREAL — Canada will face Ukraine in the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group II playoffs.

The tie will be played in Canada April 21-22. The location, choice of surface and composition of both teams will be revealed later, Tennis Canada announced Tuesday.

Last weekend, Canada lost its World Group II first-round tie to Romania 3-1 while Ukraine dropped its match to Australia 3-2.

The winner of the Canada-Ukraine tie will earn a spot in World Group II for 2019 while the losing country will be relegated to the zonal group.
