Bandits sweep the Rock in tight NLL East final

TORONTO — Chase Fraser had two goals and teammate Josh Byrne added six assists as the Buffalo Bandits eliminated the Toronto Rock from the National Lacrosse League playoffs with a 10-9 victory in the East Conference Finals.

Buffalo, which won the first game  of the best-of-three series 18-17, will now play the winner of the San Diego Seals-Colorado Mammoth series for the NLL title. The Mammoth lead their best-of-three series 1-0. Game 2 in that series is Saturday night.

The Rock, with three goals from Tom Schreiber, outshot the Bandits 51-49 in the series clincher but couldn't score on netminder Matt Vinc down the stretch. Nick Rose made 39 saves in the Toronto net.
