NEWS RELEASE
ALGOMA WORKFORCE INVESTMENT CORPORATION
*************************
The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) is surveying employers to bring to light the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on local businesses and organizations in Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma. This survey is a follow-up to surveys conducted in April and May at the beginning of the COVID response.

"We are 6 months into the COVID crisis and we want to give employers an opportunity to share their experiences," says Jonathan Coulman, Executive Director of AWIC. "Our earlier surveys showed the extent of the initial shutdowns, so we are looking to see how employers have adapted, what support programs worked for their organization and what challenges they still face – especially if restrictions become tighter again."

The surveys for employers in Sault Ste. Marie, East Algoma and Superior East can be found at https://awic.ca/covid-19-surveys/

The results of the survey will be used to communicate the needs of local employers directly to municipal, provincial and federal governments in an effort to address ongoing concerns and assist with post-crisis recovery.

For more information and for results of previous surveys, please visit AWIC’s website at www.awic.ca.

This Employment Ontario project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and by the Government of Ontario.
