Wigged Out Walk-A-Thon will support those living with hair loss

Sault College’s Hairstyling class of 2021 is hosting the inaugural Wigged Out Walk-A-Thon, a completely socially distanced/virtual event to support those living with hair loss and to destigmatize wig-wearing while raising awareness of the services the Sault College Wig Clinic can provide.

The virtual event will be held Aug. 6-14, 2021.

To participate:
    •    Share a photo walking within our community between Aug. 6-14 using #WiggedOutWalkAThon on the event page on Facebook and on Instagram
    •    Go at your own pace and walk for a cause
    •    No cost to participate, no registration

Individuals living with hair loss often feel uncomfortable for various reasons; therefore, wigs offer a sense of normalcy, dignity and comfort. For seven years, the Sault College Wig Clinic has been providing wigs and hair integrations to women within our community. This service is made possible through the Hairs To You fundraising efforts.

This event is one way we can help to bring attention to this amazing service and help those in our community who are living with hair loss.

As an added incentive to get your steps in and support this event, a huge prize basket worth over $500 will be awarded at the end of the event. The prizes were graciously donated by community members in support of this important cause. One name will be drawn from all the participants who used the hashtag, as well as from those who have liked and shared the event page.

We encourage everyone to get outside, get active and get talking about hair loss and the Sault College Wig Clinic.
