Wheels and Deals Car Show returns to the Ontario Finnish Resthome

The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association and Foundation is proud to announce, its 2nd annual Wheels and Deals Car Show and Community Garage Sale event on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 9 a.m.

Hosted at Superior Heights Collegiate and Vocational School, this local event allows for the community to come together and participate in a fun and interactive afternoon, with unique cars, prizes, a cash lottery, as well as M&M Meats, coffee and baked goods available for purchase on site.

The car show will be featured in the parking lot, while inside of the school lobby the community garage sale will take place. To participate in the car show there is a fee of $15 and as a participant your name will be entered into multiple raffle draws starting at 12:30 p.m. Car Show participants can register online in advance.

Aside from the car show there will also be a 50/50 Cash Lottery draw that will take place at 2 p.m. Funds from the draw will help OFRA to achieve their goal of a new wheelchair accessible bus for its residents.

Since April, the foundation and its incredible volunteers have been dedicating their time to selling 50/50 tickets across town. The cost is only $5 for 3 tickets! With just under one hundred of the total 2,400 tickets left to go, the foundation hopes to sell out of its 50/50 tickets by the end of the week.

Besides fancy cars and the chance at a cash lottery, there will also be a large community garage sale. With anything from home décor, kitchen wears, knick knacks, DVD’s, and all sorts of small appliances, and other rare finds. The community is encouraged to come join in, on what hopes to be a fun sunny Sunday.

The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association is a non-profit charitable organization which was founded in September 1971. The OFRA is dedicated to meet the basics needs of seniors and providing a safe and affordable environment with specified levels of care. From independent living, enhanced living, and extended nursing care as well as social services to seniors.

The foundation is the official fundraising body of the Association which assists in various expansion and enhancement initiatives for OFRA. With its diverse culture, OFRA offers a safe and affordable homes to all seniors in the District of Algoma.
