Summer History Camp 2015

Are you looking for a fun and educational week of activities for your children?

The Chippewa County Historical Society (CCHS) is sponsoring its 4th annual Summer History Camp in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, during the week of June 15 through 19.

Camp will begin at 9 a.m. in the East Dependency of the historic Schoolcraft House on Water Street, and conclude at 3 p.m.

Students finishing Grades 3 to 6 (ages 9-12) are invited to attend.

The cost for the week is $75, with some scholarships available.

The theme this year is the Maritime History of the area.

Flyers with more information will be handed out to all of our local upper elementary students in late April.

Camp activities are being coordinated by CCHS Board members and retired teachers, Patty Olsen and Ginny Cymbalist.

Please contact Patty Olsen at 906-632-1309 or [email protected] for more information or to reserve a space.

Space is limited, so please do not hesitate.

The Society is grateful once again for the support of the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA), and the National Endowment for the Arts, which have awarded a mini-grant of $1,500 to CCHS for our 4th annual Summer History Camp.

The Chippewa County Historical Society, founded in 1919, is located at 115 Ashmun Street in Sault Ste. Marie.

For more information about CCHS, view www.cchsmi.com and Facebook, or contact [email protected] and 906-635-7082.
