NEWS RELEASE
SHOT IN THE DARK SSM

Shot in the Dark and the Crimson Ridge Golf Club are pleased to announce an evening of facts and fun with friends through a fundraising event called: Think, Drink & Win: Trivia Night.

Tuesday July 9 at 7:30 p.m. participants will be faced with sports, arts, politics, local history questions and more to show off their trivia skills. A special golf theme allows for "mulligans" to be purchased to extend a winning streak. This do-over card allows a wrong answer to be reversed to a correct one. With a maximum of two per table, these cards, on sale at the door before the evening begins, are a way to stay ahead of other teams. Organizers say that the mulligan cards will encourage strategic play and will ratchet up that competitive element.

“This is something a little different, a new direction for us,” says Robert Pryor, Events Manger at Crimson Ridge Golf Club. “I’ve always loved attending trivia night activities as an audience member. There’s such a variety of people coming out and you always learn something new. I really wanted to bring that energy with something interactive to the golf club.”

Prizes include a gift certificate for two 18-hole golf passes (value $70 each) at Crimson Ridge Golf Club or tickets to see the upcoming Sault Theatre Workshop production of Matilda and more. There will be a cash bar at the event.

“It’s always a great night,” says Anthony Aceti, director at Shot in the Dark, who has hosted several trivia nights in the past. “People love the social element, meeting new people, and they definitely love showing off their knowledge as they compete for the big prize. This event is a perfect summer evening activity…whether you’re unwinding after a long day on the links or trying to escape the heat, there’s a spot for everyone at Trivia Night."

Teams will work as a group to answer questions ranging from true/false to multiple choice to trickier speed-round questions. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased by emailing [email protected] or [email protected]. Teams of four pay only $35. Individuals can be put in a team at the event.

The event, being held at Crimson Ridge Golf Club, is the first collaboration of the season with the local theatre company. In January, 2020, Shot in the Dark will return to Crimson Ridge Golf Club with a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre. Tickets for that event will go on sale later this year.

"This will be a sell-out event," said Aceti. "You will want to plan ahead and reserve your seats early!"
