Sault Ste. Marie’s Francophone Centre celebrates the St-Jean-Baptiste festival on Saturday, June 25. Everyone is invited to join the festivities, which will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.

The St-Jean-Baptiste festival is the French-Canadian holiday celebrated all over North America to commemorate the patron saint of the Francophones, John the Baptist. It is a fun-filled event, uniting Francophones, Francophiles and everyone who wishes to recognize and celebrate French culture in a festive community ambiance.

Come and join all the fun. There will be food and activities for the whole family, including face painting, games, a craft fair, concession stands with ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, and, of course, a BBQ. Local artists will perform and entertain us with French music and songs throughout the day. Many francophone organizations will be participating, including Les Chevaliers de Colombs, Céfa and l’Église Sainte-Marie-du-Sault, as well as some of the local French and immersion schools. All the organizations, clubs and local merchants are welcome to rent a kiosk to promote their work and participate in the festivities.

We would love to have a big crowd on this festive occasion for families and friends to enjoy an outing and celebrate our French-Canadian culture with us. We look forward to seeing you all there.
