NEWS RELEASE

ROTARY CLUB OF SAULT STE MARIE

*************************
The Rotary Clubs of Sault Ste Marie will host a Youth Exchange information session on May 5th, from 7 to 9 pm in the Korah Collegiate Auditorium.

Since 1970, Rotary Youth Exchange has sponsored hundreds of thousands of students.

Locally, clubs have hosted over 130 students and sponsored many more.

It is a one to one system of exchange.

For each student an individual Rotary club commits to hosting, it can sponsor a student for a year abroad.

Sending students abroad for a year is an enormously rewarding experience for all involved.

Currently, there are Sault Ste Marie students in Brazil, Poland and Slovakia.

They will return in July after 11 months in their host country.

Six new students will depart this August.

Two will go to Belgium, and one each will go to Argentina, Germany, Thailand and Turkey.

We are currently hosting students from Ecuador, Germany and Norway.

Come to this evening session to learn more about Rotary Youth Exchange, about welcoming a new son or daughter for a few months, or about what your son or daughter can experience while abroad.

If you know a family that might be interested, please forward to them this information.

For more information please contact Neil McLean, Youth Exchange Officer,  Rotary Club of Sault Ste Marie North, by phone 705-256-9297 or by email [email protected]
