Rolling Pictures would like to announce the appointment of Robert Peace as their Director, Community Relations for their Sault Ste Marie operations.

With the continuous development of the film community in Northern Ontario,it’s important for companies like Rolling Pictures North Ltd. to take a leadership role in Sault Ste Marie, as well as the surrounding areas.

Mike Forsey, CEO and Partner at Rolling Pictures, wants Rolling Pictures North to feel like a local business to Saultites.

“Our clients have been thriving on making quality films and television series in this region, and we want to encourage and support that growth”, says Forsey. "With our post production studio at the heart of it, we felt the need to engage with businesses, governments and potential local talent to further embrace the industry.”

To spearhead this involvement, Rolling Pictures welcomes Robert Peace to the team. As Director of Community Relations, Robert will manage the relationships within the community and northern Ontario. He will be focusing on cultivating positive relationships with local businesses, organizing local events, attending community meetings, and participating in programs with community outreach. Peace also hopes to build a strong relationship with the Sault College Digital Film Program, the Indigenous Film Community, local productions, and film festival among other duties. Peace will be making the Soo his permanent home.

"Making the Soo my home is a new chapter in life for me and I’m excited to join the northern Ontario film and media industry in its growth period", says Peace.

"From those I have already met, I know there are a lot of creative folks who left the Soo, made their mark in North America, and are returning home with skills, capital, connections, and project ideas. There is also a wealth of talent here and we have already hired some of the best and I am currently developing a roster of local talent that we hope to employ once the industry is back up and running at full speed.”

A graduate in Political Science and Psychology, Robert is a 25-year veteran of communication and public relations. His communication and journalistic skills were honed in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as an Executive Assistant and Policy Adviser to a number of Government Ministers and Party Leaders.
Robert went on to become the Director of Community Relations at Credit Valley Conservation where among other things hosted a local television program focusing on Conservation efforts. This led to him filming and producing a number of documentaries about water, watersheds and the Credit River that won International acclaim.

Robert also has direct experience in post production, having been in a managerial role for Optix Digital Post, a post company based in Toronto, for two years.
In 1999 Robert began his own Marketing and Communications business producing business to business marketing solutions, video tools for HR and training. He has travelled extensively covering International projects and speaks english and spanish and some french.

“We are not just a Toronto company that opened a satellite office up north,” says Forsey. “We are committed to being a resource to Northern Ontario, to learn from local talent and utilize them to grow business for everyone as a community.”

As Rolling Pictures North continues to establish itself in the Soo, we welcome the community of Sault Ste. Marie to reach out with any inquiries or introductions.
