Rediscover the city with the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association's scavenger hunt

The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) and Foundation is excited to announce our Rediscover SSM with OFRA Scavenger Hunt! The hunt is in effect from Aug. 1 to Aug. 30 and will provide families with a fun, COVID-friendly activity that encourages Saultites to get out and rediscover their city!

As restrictions in our city lift, OFRA wants you to explore it! There are local businesses we haven’t been able to visit. There are places in town we haven’t been able to experience. This August, it’s time to enjoy it all over again!

There are 50 posters hidden at destinations across Sault Ste. Marie – from your favourite local restaurants, retail stores, and city landmarks. Solve the clues to find the destinations! Once a poster is found, participants will write down the unique phrases from each poster on their Destination Tracker form. The poster will also feature a QR code to scan for more information about the destination and OFRA! Every valid Destination Code found and recorded on their Destination Tracker is an entry to win a prize from a variety of local businesses. By participating in this event, you could be the proud winners of local merchandise and valuable gift certificates. It’s a great way to support and represent the Soo!

Steps to Rediscover SSM with OFRA Scavenger Hunt

Step 1: Establish your scavenger hunt team! Team name optional but encouraged

Step 2: Go to www.ontariofinnishresthome.ca/rediscoverssm.

Step 3: Download and/or print the 50 city-wide destination clues and Destination Tracker. Every team member is encouraged to submit their own Destination Tracker.

Step 4: Solve the clues!

Step 5: Go to destination and find our unique Scavenger Hunt poster (aside from one destination, posters are visible from outside and it’s not necessary to go inside any locations).

Step 6: Write down the Destination Code on each poster beside the corresponding number on the Destination Tracker.

Step 7: Find as many posters as you can! The more posters = the more entries into the prize draws.

Step 8: Fill in the Destination Tracker on our website, or email to [email protected], or drop off or mail to 725 North St. Sault Ste. Marie, P6B 5Z3 by Aug. 30.

Step 9: Watch our Facebook Live of the prizes drawn on Sept. 1, 2021 at The Ontario Finnish Resthome’s Facebook page.

Step 10: Post pictures of your hunt on social media with the hashtag #RediscoverSSM.
