NEWS RELEASE

MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES

*************************
Due to continued illegal dumping of debris in and around the recycling bins, effective Dec. 8, 2016, the Ward 3 recycling depot will be relocated from between the Village General Store and the Iron Bridge Rec Centre to the Ward 3 Waste Disposal Site at 41 Red Rock Road.

The recycling bins may be accessed during regular waste site hours of operation. Recycling depots are also located at the Wards 1, 2 and 4 Waste Sites. In an effort to ensure that debris and recycle materials are deposited in the appropriate locations, caretakers are greeting all persons entering the sites. Please stop at the entrance to advise the caretaker as to the type of waste you are depositing. Please recycle whatever and whenever possible.

Be advised that from Oct. 1 to Mar. 31, all Waste Sites operate on winter hours:  Saturdays 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Mondays and Wednesdays 2 – 6 p.m.

All Waste Disposal Sites in the Municipality of Huron Shores are closed on statutory and civic holidays, Family Day, Easter Monday and Remembrance Day.

Council and staff apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve the efficiency, health, and safety, of the  Municipality’s Waste Disposal and Recycling Program. Please watch for further updates with respect to changes to Waste Disposal Site operations planned for 2017.
