"Plan A Algoma," in conjunction with the Sault Community Career Centre, will be holding an job fair on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The job fair will be held at the Sault Community Career Centre, located at 503 Queen Street East. Representatives from Plan A Algoma will be on hand to conduct interviews for suitable applicants.

Plan A Algoma is looking to hire Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Personal Support Workers to provide health care services to elderly and geriatric clientele, and to work in long term care facilities, in Sault Ste. Marie. Applicants can expect casual, part time, on call, shift, overtime, day, night, and evening work.

Job duties for RNs and RPNs include, but are not limited to, assessing patients and identifying appropriate nursing interventions; collaborating on patient care plans; implementing, coordinating and evaluating patient care; monitoring, assessing, addressing, documenting and reporting symptoms or any changes in patient's care. Salaries begin at $33-40 per hour for RPNs, $50-59 per hour for RNs.

Job duties for PSWs include, but are not limited to, administering bedside and personal care, providing companionship, feeding or assisting in feeding, assisting clients to walk, and aiding clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Salaries begin at $22-29 per hour for PSWs.

Candidates are expected to have at least one year of work experience in the field. Applicants will also be expected to produce a First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Criminal Record Check, and Immunization Records once successful.
