Physiotherapy, other services to resume at North Shore Health Network sites

The North Shore Health Network is working to resume operations in accordance with recommendations from the Ministry of Health for service delivery across our catchment area. The safety of patients and workers remains a top priority.

Effective Monday, June 29, 2020 the following services will resume as noted to accommodate physical distancing and infection control measures:

MEDICAL IMAGING: Routine bookings will resume at all sites. Every patient must have an appointment. Walk-ins will not be accepted. If you have a Medical Imaging requisition from a provider or specialist, please contact the department by telephone to schedule an appointment.

To book a Medical Imaging appointment:

• Richards Landing – Matthews Site: 705-246-2570

PHYSIOTHERAPY: In-person physiotherapy appointments will resume at this time for existing patients and urgent referrals (post-surgery, after cast removal, or recent injury). Virtual visits will also continue where appropriate. It is anticipated that appointments for non-urgent referrals will be able to start in the coming weeks.

Note: During an in-person physiotherapy appointment, there is potential that staff may have to be less than two metres away from the patient and some hands-on care may be required. Workers and patients will be wearing a mask; workers will also be wearing a face shield or goggles when up close, as well as gloves around any open wound. There may be others (workers and/or patients) in the department at the time of your appointment.

If you have a Physiotherapy referral, do not drop it off at the hospital – please contact the department at 705-356-2265 ext. 2480.

Chiropractic Services: At this time, Dr. Sicoli has not yet resumed the chiropractic clinic located in the Physiotherapy Department. Details of service resumption will be provided when available.

Patients are requested to attend appointments alone. However, individuals who require assistance are permitted to have one person accompany them. This individual will also be subject to screening protocols. Patients and visitors are requested to perform hand hygiene and wear a mask. Clean handmade cloth masks are acceptable in most circumstances. Patients are asked to bring their own mask, if possible.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and you have a scheduled appointment, please contact your Health Care Provider and the department to postpone your appointment.
