New St. Joseph Island business to host job fair

A new business on St. Joseph’s Island will be hosting a job fair in cooperation with Sault College Employment Solutions on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The job fair will take place at the Richards Landing Town Hall, located at 1211 Richards Street in Richards Landing, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Fannie’s On The Island is a new family restaurant, bakery, and confectionary store that is preparing to open in November 2019 on St. Joseph’s Island at the Four Corners location. The new business is recruiting for multiple positions, including kitchen staff, servers, and supervisors.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience in customer service, hospitality or cooking. However, anyone who is passionate about local ingredients, prepared simply and presented beautifully, and who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to contribute to outstanding guest experiences, is invited to attend the fair.

Those interested in applying should attend the job fair on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Richards Landing Town Hall from 2 to 5 p.m.

Please come prepared for an interview, with a resume, references and proof of relevant certificates or licenses. Safe Food Handling Certificate (cooks, prep cooks and bakers) and Smart Serve Certifications (servers) are assets.
