Meet the new director of human resources at Algoma U

Araba holds a PhD in Public Administration from Babcock University in Nigeria and a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies

Algoma University is pleased to announce that Dr. Teni Araba has been named the new Director of Human Resources at the University.
 
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Teni Araba to our leadership team at Algoma University,” said President and Vice-Chancellor, Asima Vezina. “Teni brings to Algoma a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Human Resources and Leadership Development and will be a wonderful addition to our team and our community.”  
 
Araba brings over 12 years of experience in human resources to Algoma and has proven skills in leadership development, cultural transformation, human analytics, recruitment and selection, training and development, communications, performance management, and more.

She comes to the University from the Driving Change Automotive Group, where she served as Director of Human Resources and Training at four locations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba since 2014. Prior to this position, Araba also worked for APM Terminals (MAERSK) in Nigeria.
 
“I am excited to become a part of the Algoma University family. I look forward to working with the amazing team and collaborating with the community to build a brighter future for Algoma U and the city. My family is very excited too and pleased to make Sault Ste. Marie our new home,” said Araba.
 
Araba holds a PhD in Public Administration from Babcock University in Nigeria, a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies, and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Human Resource Professionals. Araba will fill the vacancy at Algoma starting on July 3, 2018.
