McDougall to acquire Kingston-area energy company

Two of Ontario's longstanding fuel and lubricant distribution businesses have come to an agreement that will welcome Rosen Energy Group Inc. (“Rosen Energy”) to third-generation, family owned McDougall Energy Inc. and Group of Companies ("McDougall Energy") as of May 31, 2021.

This acquisition expands McDougall Energy’s footprint into new communities which includes Kingston, Gananoque, Greater Napanee and the surrounding area. Once the acquisition is complete, Rosen Energy will operate under the McDougall Energy brand as its Kingston office. Rosen Energy has been serving the Kingston area since 1875, supplying liquid fuel (unbranded heating oil, diesel and gasoline) to home and commercial customers, HVAC sales and installation, equipment servicing, service plans, and financing.

Over the past several months, McDougall Energy has worked closely with Rosen Energy owners in reaching this agreement, ensuring that the transition is seamless for Rosen Energy employees and customers located in the Kingston area.

Any changes to customer accounts, such as account numbers and billing information, will be communicated to customers after June 1, 2021, once details are confirmed and the acquisition is final. McDougall Energy’s team is working closely with Rosen Energy to finalize the details of the acquisition and making the process as easy as possible for customers and partners.
