A number of community partners have stepped up in support of the Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place. Read the full text of the release here:

For the seventh consecutive year, Northside Toyota is gearing up to fight hunger in our community.

This year, in the spirit of giving, Northside Toyota is matching the first $1,000 donated online to the campaign to kick off the initiative, which involves non-perishable food donations and monetary contributions from the community.

But that’s not all. 14 other local businesses have each offered to match the first $1,000 in community donations as well.

That means that as a community, we will be turning $1,000 of donations made by the public online here into $16,000 with the support of the following businesses: Adam Slumskie at CIBC Private Wealth/Intrinsic Financial Group, ASAPP Financial Technology Inc., Daniel J. Fremlin Building Group, Feifel Gualazzi Personal Injury Law Firm, GFL Environmental, Laser Advantage, Laidlaw Paciocco Dumanski Spadafora & Johnson, Mio’s Furniture, Northern Credit Union, O’Sullivan Funeral Home, Pino’s Get Fresh, Joe Ruscio Professional Corporation, Savoy’s Jewellers and SooToday.

You can also support this initiative by helping us Fill the Toyota.

Between now and Dec. 22, you can drop off donations at Northside Toyota, Pino’s Get Fresh and Rome’s Independent Grocer. Non-perishable food items can be placed in the back of our Fill the Toyota vehicles that will be at each of the three locations. Shoppers at Pino’s and Rome’s can also make donations at the checkout of either store.

All donations will stay in our community, supporting both the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place.
