Lake Superior State University first-year nursing student Elizabeth Satek indulges two happy First Dogs, Duke (front) and Earl, as their owner, LSSU President Tom Pleger, looks on if not begrudgingly.

Dr. Pleger and his wife, Teresa, were hosting the Lake State freshmen class in their home for a barbecue on September 29.

Other members of the Class of 2018 look on approvingly.

Satek is from Rockton, Illinois, just south of the Wisconsin border.
