New to Canada? Looking for Adult English Classes? The Sault Community Career Centre’s Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program is now accepting students for our ongoing summer and upcoming fall classes. Seats are limited.

LINC is a free English language training program for eligible adult learners, funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Our certified instructors use everyday tasks and real-world examples; we cover essential topics such as housing, banking, citizenship, and how to find employment.

Using the Canadian Language Benchmarks, we teach from pre-benchmark to CLB 7. We offer small class sizes for personalized attention.

Our summer classes are from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a half hour for lunch. Beginning in September, our classes will be Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a half hour for lunch.

To be eligible for the LINC program, you must be 18 years of age or older, and a landed immigrant (not a Canadian citizen or visitor), a convention refugee (not a refugee claimant), or a person in Canada whose application for Permanent Resident status is being processed.

Our convenient 477 Queen Street East location is accessible by transit, and in some cases, participants may qualify for transportation assistance and other supports.

For more information or to register, please contact Saira Anjum, Newcomer Program Lead, Sault Community Career Centre at 705.759.0909 ext. 4232 or email [email protected].
