NEWS RELEASE
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP NORTHERN REGION
*************************
Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Northern Region Partnership and StartUP Sault announced today that they have partnered to host an interactive Social Enterprise Bootcamp on Nov. 16. The session will help attendees understand how to utilize social enterprise as a tool for community change.

Topics such as funding opportunities for social enterprise, community engagement, revenue generation, cooperative business models and marketing on a budget will be addressed. This workshop is perfect for non-profit organizations, businesses, and individuals looking to explore social entrepreneurship or enhance their existing skillsets.

Social Enterprises have a mission to address social, environmental or cultural challenges by reinvesting profits above operational expenses back into their missions, and using a triple bottom line (people, planet, profit) to measure their success. Social Enterprises take many forms, including non-profits, co-operatives and sole proprietorships to name a few. These enterprises serve an important role in meeting community needs, where social or environmental services lack the capacity to do so.

“Social enterprises are essential threads in the fabric of our community, and require specific supports and resources. We are very pleased to be working in partnership with StartUP Sault, to bring a community of social innovators to this workshop and circle of support”, shared Gayle Broad, SEE’s Faculty Lead.

“All forms of entrepreneurship are important to our community, and StartUP Sault is excited to partner with Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Northern Region Partnership to deliver this important workshop”, said Nevin Buconjic, StartUP Sault Founder and Community Lead.
