Jehovah’s Witnesses welcome all to attend 'Don’t Give Up!' Convention

Jehovah’s Witnesses will soon hold their annual convention in Sault Ste. Marie. The theme of this year’s program is “Don’t Give Up!” An estimated 3,000 will come to Essar Arena July 21 to 23 for the Bible-based program.

During the months of June through August 2017, 45 convention programs will be presented in 24 locations across the country. In addition to English, there will be convention programs presented in American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese), Chinese (Mandarin), French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Portuguese, Punjabi, Quebec Sign language, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Tamil.

The projected attendance for all conventions this summer in Canada is 150,000. Worldwide, there are over 8,200,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses in more than 119,000 congregations.

On the weekend of July 21-23, a special convention will be held in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, with an estimated peak attendance of 18,000. 2,000 international delegates from Britain, Ireland, Scotland, France, and the United States plus 500 national delegates from all over Canada will join the many regional delegates.

Some key parts of the program will be video streamed to 15 other locations across Canada on the same weekend. These locations are Moncton, Sherbrooke, Montreal, Cornwall, Oshawa, Brampton Powerade Centre, Norval Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (Tagalog) in Brampton, Kitchener, St. Catharines, Windsor, Sault Ste. Marie, Edmonton, Calgary, Surrey Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (Tagalog), and Vancouver.

For the exact venues being used, please see jw.org. A peak attendance of over 90,000 will be tied together for certain portions of the program.

Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations. There is no admission fee.
