The 2nd Annual Steelworkers Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, Aug. 18 at Crimson Ridge Golf Course. All proceeds of the tournament will be donated to the Twinkie Foundation.

The Twinkie Foundation is a registered charity that helps local families who need to take a sick or terminally ill child out of town for medical appointments and treatment. They help provide financial support for expenses such as travel, hotels and food, etc.

The Steelworkers Charity Golf Tournament starts with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Golfers will play 18 holes, with cart, receive lunch and dinner. They will also receive a tournament shirt, goodie bag.

We will be having various contests and raffles for the golfers to partake in, such as a hole-in-one contest for a Dodge Ram truck courtesy of Superior Dodge.

Anyone interested in registering a team, please contact the USW District 6 office at 705-759-4945.

Last year, the Twinkie Foundation received $10,000 from the tournament and an additional $7,000 in donations from USW Local 2251 and 2724.  The tournament is hosted by the USW Locals of Sault Ste. Marie and area.
