Donations are still being accepted online until Dec. 22 and will support the efforts of the Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place.

With the holiday season in full swing, the community of Sault Ste. Marie has demonstrated how they embrace the giving spirit.

Fill The Tundra, a fundraiser hosted by Northside Toyota, aimed to match the first $1,000 donated online by the community. In just one week, the company surpassed their goal.

Every year, Fill The Tundra collects non-perishable food and monetary donations from the community to assist those who experience food insecurity during the holidays. For the eighth consecutive year, the initiative has been able to provide relief to those who need it most.

While the initial goal has been met, Northside Toyota is determined to continue collecting donations to help the community.

“It’s very important this time of year for the community to come together and help out SSM Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent’s Place,” says Mario Palumbo, dealer principal at Northside Toyota. “We are proud to be giving back to the community to drive down hunger in Sault Ste Marie.”

Donations towards the fundraiser are still encouraged and are being accepted online until Dec. 22.

The success of the Fill The Tundra fundraiser would not have been possible without its various sponsors: ASAPP OXP, Lyons Timber Mart, Savoy’s Jewellers, SooToday and Spadafora Johnson Lepore LLP.
